What should I know about using Skype or other conferencing software to connect with Benjamin?
The facilitator will send instructions regarding the conferencing software to be used. If we are using Skype, you will need a Skype address. In any case, you will need a quality Internet connection, a quiet space and uninterrupted time for the duration of your one-on-one or group session. When you are part of a group session, you will want to be able to mute yourself when you are not part of the conversation. All noises, even seemingly quiet ones like a sheet of paper rustling, are very disturbing.
How should I prepare?
Do take some quiet time to prepare yourself so that you are in a fairly open state of mind. Sitting, meditating or listening to gentle music may help you.
Have ready one or two questions you would like to ask. These can be very specific, about something that is troubling you or about some situation or relationship in your life that you would like some deeper guidance about.
What will happen when the session begins?
In one-on-one sessions, you will connect via conferencing software with K J Duff who is Benjamin’s channel and have a brief chat with her. Then she will invite you to sit silently and wait for Benjamin’s Presence.
In group sessions, the facilitator will initiate the session with the entire group. You will first meet the group facilitator, then K J Duff, who is Benjamin’s channel. All in the group will introduce themselves and share at a very high level the question(s) each hopes to be able to ask. (NOTE: If you have chosen to participate with a larger group, 5 or more, it is possible there will not be time for everyone to ask their personal questions. We have come to know that there is relevance in almost every conversation for each person in the group.) The facilitator will ask for a volunteer to go first and will then lead the group in a short centering meditation before all sit silently and wait for Benjamin’s Presence.
How does the conversation with Benjamin unfold?
In one-on-one sessions, when Benjamin comes in, he will usually address you and ask how he/they can be of help. In group sessions, when Benjamin comes in, he will address the facilitator and ask how he/they can be of help. The facilitator will introduce the group to Benjamin and then invite the first person to begin.
When it is your turn to speak with Benjamin, introduce yourself and start your conversation, telling him briefly why you want to speak with him and asking any particular questions.
Sometimes, Benjamin will ask you something, to help clarify or to go ‘deeper’ into what you wish to discuss. Just reply as you would to anyone who was completely there for you, wanting to help you.
Although you are speaking with Benjamin and the words you hear are very important, you may also find that the Presence is also very powerful, or perhaps comforting, or peaceful.
May I record the session?
It is good to be able to record the session if you can, so that you can listen again later. It is vital in group sessions, however, that you only record your conversation with Benjamin or have permission from others in the group if you wish to record the entire session.
What can I ask?
Benjamin appears as a gentle, wise, very kind and compassionate spirit offering counsel and guidance. He describes himself as being part of a wider council or group consciousness that comes from very high levels of being. He/they are very happy to give insight and loving perspective on the most detailed human matters as well as on wide ranging exploration of existential questions. So do not be shy, but ask what you feel you need to know or understand.
How does the session end?
Benjamin will make it clear when a conversation needs to end and will offer blessings to you. In group sessions, the facilitator will guide another person to begin. In one-on-one sessions, you can briefly say goodbye, then wait for K J Duff to return and end the session.
In group sessions, Benjamin and the facilitator will make it clear when the entire session needs to end. Benjamin will offer final blessings before ‘leaving’. All may then briefly say goodbye and wait for K J Duff to return. Following a brief closing chat, the session will end.
Do K J Duff or Benjamin want feedback?
You may want to offer some feedback on your session later by email – we are always wanting to hear your experience of meeting with Benjamin.
